(Des Moines, IA) -- After several mild, warm fall days, a change is coming. The National Weather Service says Wednesday will be mild and breezy, especially in western Iowa. Storms and cooler weather are expected by the end of the week.

Showers and storms are expected to move into western Iowa Thursday afternoon into Thursday night, and spread across the state overnight. Forecasters expect the showers to linger thru Friday into Saturday.

Temperatures will remain in the 70s thru Thursday, before falling to the 50s for most of the weekend.
