Snowy Weather Moves Into Northwest Iowa

(Des Moines, IA) -- A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for northwest Iowa where roads are partially covered with snow. The Iowa Department of Transportation is reminding drivers to:

1. Slow down

2. Buckle up

3. Leave plenty of space between vehicles

.WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS

EVENING...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total ice accumulations up

to a tenth of an inch, with less than half an inch of snow.

Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Iowa and east central and

southeast Nebraska.

* WHEN...From 6 AM this morning to 6 PM CST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Isolated power

outages may also occur.
