Winter Storm Expected To Impact Christmas Travel In Iowa, Illinois

A significant winter storm is headed for our area before Christmas. The National Weather Service says it's likely to make travel difficult, if not impossible. Winter storm watches will be in effect Wednesday night - Friday Night. Forecasters say it's unknown how much snow will fall, but strong winds and extreme cold are certain.

Winds could be 30-50 mph starting Thursday.

Forecasters say snow, high winds, near blizzard conditions, and dangerous cold are all possible. Stay tuned for later forecasts and updates concerning this potentially high impact winter storm.
