(Undated) -- Iowa is in the top 10 when it comes to the highest taxes in the country. That's according to WalletHub, which says Iowa has the 10th highest tax burden in the U.S. That's also the 3rd highest in the Midwest behind only Minnesota and Illinois. WalletHub says Iowa ranks 25th for total sales and excise tax burden, 16th for individual income tax burden, and 14th for property tax burden. WalletHub says the state with the highest tax burden is New York and the state with the lowest is Alaska. A full list of states is available here.
