(Undated) -- Ninety-two barns will be featured on a statewide barn tour this weekend, September 14-15. Eleven round barns are on the free, self-guided tour. Wayne Frost of the Iowa Barn Foundation says each year, the state's losing about 1,000 barns.

"We (Iowa) had around 200-thousand barns in the 1950s, now there are just 40,000," said Frost. He says there were once 250 of the more rare round barns in the state, but that number has shrunk to 75. Eleven round barns are on this year's tour.
