Semi Hauling Hogs Collides With SUV In Central Iowa

(Polk County, IA) -- One person is in critical condition after a semi truck hauling a load of hogs in central Iowa toppled over after colliding with an SUV.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at around 11:40 a.m. this morning on Highway 65, about six miles north of Bondurant.

It's unknown how many hogs were in the trailer.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital where their condition is unknown.

Northbound lanes of NE Hubbell Ave will be closed at NE Santiago Drive while crews clean up the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
