(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Area Religious Council saw record numbers of people visiting their food pantries in 2024.
Blake Willadsen of DMARC tells WHO Radio News 75,519 people visited DMARC food pantries in the Des Moines metro area last year, including 19 local zip codes. He says roughly 1 in 3 people who visited DMARC food pantries in 2024 were under the age of 18.
DMARC is accepting donations at locations across the area and looking for volunteers in 2025. More information about donation locations and volunteer opportunities is available on the DMARC website.
