Des Moines Man Sentenced to up to 55 Years in Prison for Kidnapping

(Des Moines, IA) -- A Des Moines man facing more than 5 decades in prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping a former girlfriend.

33 year-old Troy Mure, Jr. was sentenced to up to 55 years in prison. According to a plea deal, Mure must serve a minimum of 22 and a half years in prison. He admitted to breaking into the victim's home on Des Moines' east side while armed in September of last year and holding the victim against her will. He has three prior felony convictions, including vehicular homicide.
