(Des Moines, IA) -- The Market District Revitalization Plan is moving forward just south of Des Moines’ East Village.
The city plans to turn the 260-acre district into a multi-use neighborhood featuring restaurants, housing, and entertainment venues. The Des Moines City Council approved a measure to include the area in the Capital City Reinvestment District and to request further funding from the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
Construction of the district is expected to take 20 years, and development is still in the very early stages.
