Voters Nominate Democrat Lisa J. Chiodo For Polk County Recorder

Iowans Head To The Polls To Vote In Primary Election

(Polk County, IA) -- Two candidates wanted the Democratic nomination for Polk County Recorder. With 100% of precincts reporting and earning 54 percent of the vote Lisa J. Chiodo advances to the general election November 3.

The county recorder maintains permanent public records like birth, death, and marriage certificates, as well as real estate documents. Chiodo faced Luisita McBurney to replace longtime Recorder Julie Haggerty who is retiring.

Tiara May-Sims also appeared on the ballot but withdrew from the race.
