Driver dies after car-vs-pick-up crash in Des Moines

UPDATE:   Des Moines Police say the driver of the Chevy sedan, involved in a crash this afternoon in Des Moines has died of his injuries.   Police say it appears the driver of the southbound pick-up truck failed to stop at the stoplight in the intersection, and collided with the Chevy.  Charges have not been filed, pending the outcome of the investigation.

(Des Moines, Iowa)  A car vs pick-up truck crash sent one person to a Des Moines hospital with injuries this (Thursday) afternoon around 1 p.m.  The collision happened at the intersection of MLK Parkway and Clark Street.

A car traveling east on Clark collided with a pick-up which was south on MLK, the car was pushed onto a nearby sidewalk.   Traffic was detoured off MLK and Clark as investigators sorted out the details of the crash.
