Comey: President said 'I expect loyalty'

Prepared remarks, released by the Senate Intelligence Committee detail meetings between James Comey and President Donald Trump.

The remarks indicate the fired FBI Director plans to testify Thursday that President Trump personally sought his “loyalty” while also pressing to “lift the cloud” of the Russia investigation, according to written testimony released ahead of his appearance before a Senate committee.

Comey describes a Jan. 27 dinner where he said Trump personally told him: “I need loyalty. I expect loyalty.”
