Greg McDermott is staying at Creighton University to coach the men's basketball team.
McDermott tweeted Thursday "I'm blessed and honored to be the coach at Creighton and am looking forward to many more great years in omaha!"
The 52-year-old McDermott emerged as a top candidate to become the next head coach at Ohio State University. He met with OSU officials on Wednesday before confirming he is staying in Omaha.
McDermott has coached at Creighton for the last seven seasons after coaching at Northern Iowa and Iowa State.
