Driver clocked going 125 mph near Des Moines, Iowa

The Iowa State Patrol says a vehicle was clocked going 125-miles per hour at the east mix-master, just northeast of Des Moines.

The patrol shared the picture of the radar, on Facebook.

They say the incident happened Tuesday, July 25th.

State Patrol Spokesman, Trooper Alex Dinkla tells WHO Radio News the driver was southbound on I-35, headed to Des Moines, when he was spotted speeding.  Dinkla says the driver had been on lunch break and was headed back to work.  The driver is now facing hundreds of dollars in citations.

Dinkla says it's very fortunate there were no crashes, as the east mix-master can be a dangerous area, because of multiple exit and entrance ramps.

The State Patrol is using the incident as a reminder to all drivers, that speed is the leading cause of collisions and fatalities in Iowa.
