Chicago man held for unemployment fraud in Polk County


A Chicago man's in the Polk County Jail, charged with fraudulently getting 35 weeks of unemployment benefits in Polk County.  40 year old Gerardo Antonio Portillo is facing first degree fraudulent practices.

Portillo is charged with illegally collecting more than $17,000 in unemployment benefits between May of 2016 and March of this year.  

Portillo is being jailed in lieu of a $10,000 bond.  His preliminary hearing is set for August 28th.
