Forecast for Iowa today: Afternoon eclipse, evening storms

Iowa in bullseye for possible severe storms Tuesday night. National Weather Service Des Moines

Up to 4″ of rain fell in parts of the state early this morning.

WHO Channel 13 Meteorologist Jeriann Ritter says heavy rainfall will continue to move slowly across the state through the mid morning with some breaks in the cloud cover expected this afternoon.

ECLIPSE WEATHER

If you plan on viewing the eclipse, it looks like there may be some areas that see just enough sunshine to view parts of the solar eclipse, though others will be completely clouded over.
