Trucker commits suicide at Marshall County, Iowa interchange

(August 26, 2017)  The body of a truck-driver, found Friday in Marshall County, has been taken to the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office.

The Marshall County Sheriff says the truck driver's boss had told them Friday morning he thought the driver was suicidal.

The truck was then spotted, by another truck driver at the Highway 30 and 330 interchange, west of Marshalltown.

The Sheriff's Office says a passerby then reported a woman walking away from the truck, who said she'd been assaulted over several hours by the driver, who shot himself in the truck.

The Sheriff's Office says the driver and the woman knew each other, but do not have any known connection to Marshall County, other than picking up a load in Marshall County, for delivery elsewhere in Iowa.
