Crash victim identified as Dowling Catholic student

The person killed in a wreck on Highway 5 before 8 o'clock Monday morning has been identified by family members as Trevor Schwager.    

Schwager, a student at Dowling Catholic High School  apparently lost control, crossed the median, and crashed into an oncoming truck.  He was ejected from the truck he was driving and died at the scene.

Schwager was a varsity wrestler at Dowling.  The school has posted his picture on it's Facebook page, along with a tribute.

"We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Trevor Schwager, a senior at Dowling Catholic High School who was killed in a car accident. Trevor was known for his high energy, positive spirit and leadership. He was a member of the Dowling Catholic wrestling team and involved with FFA and 4-H. Please keep Trevor, his family and friends, and the many people whose lives he touched in your thoughts and prayers. He will be greatly missed."

The Iowa State Patrol says Chad Ryan of Indianola and Colton Smith of Mitchellville were driving the other vehicles involved crash.  They were not injured.
