Two arrests in Des Moines area gun store burglaries

(Des Moines, Iowa)  Two Des Moines men have been arrested and charged in connection with recent gun store robberies.

The U-S Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Iowa says David Marken Aikoriegie and Myles Jordan Maricle Pena, appeared today (Tuesday)  in federal court before Magistrate Judge Celeste Bremer, on charges.

Aikoriegie is charged with three counts of theft of firearmes from a federal licensee and one count of unlawful possession, receipt and sale of a stolen firearm.

The complaint alleges between November 16th, 2017 and December 14th, 2017, Aikoriegie broken into and stole firearms from the JLM Gun Shoppe in Urbandale and Rangemaster in Clive.  It also alleges he sold some of the stolen firearms.

Myles Jordan Maricle Pena appeared in federal court on the charge of unlawful drug user in possession of a firearm.   He's accused of selling a stolen firearm to another individual on or about December 14th, 2017.   The firearm was stolen from one of the recent burglaries, alleged to have been committed by Aikoriegie.  Pena's also facing firearm and marijuana possession charges.

Officials are still investigating the incidents and trying to locate the stolen firearms.
