DES MOINES, IOWA - A Des Moines Police van carrying two officers and a prisoner was hit by a car and rolled near I-235 Wednesday.

"They were travelling northbound on E 6th Street at the freeway bridge, and as they entered the intersection a car that was getting ready to enter the freeway eastbound crashed right into them, T-boned the wagon."  Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parezik tells WHO Radio News.

He says the impact rolled the van completely over, coming to rest back on it's wheels, injuring the the officers and prisoner.  Parizek says the injuries were minor and all three should be released by the end of the day.

The 20 year old driver of the car that hit the van was not injured.  At this time, no charges have been filed.
