A Texas family has published a formal obituary for a pet chicken named Big Mama.
Before judging whether this is okay or not, read the obituary.
Maybe a few years ago, I would found this in bad taste. But one thing has changed my mind: Facebook.
On Facebook, friends often share their grief over the passing of a family pet. And many friends express sympathy. I think sharing the grief has been very helpful to these sad families.
SO: if your family loved a pet chicken enough to suffer grief over it and the obituary is therapeutic, I am okay with it.
