Purse & car stolen from West Des Moines church

(WEST DES MOINES, Iowa)   Police in West Des Moines are looking for a woman who stole a purse and a car, from a West Des Moines church later afternoon on January 28th.  

Officers say the purse was swiped from a classroom, while the owner had stepped out briefly.   When the owner of the purse returned she realized the purse was gone, she then noticed her vehicle was gone too. 

Church staff began searching and found the purse was found in a dumpster on church property.   

The car was located at Quik Trip in Des Moines, February 1st.   Police say the thief tried to use stolen credit cards at the 22nd Street Walgreens. 

West Des Moines Police say the church has requested to remain anonymous.
