DES MOINES, Iowa - The beautiful stretch of springlike weather is coming to an end for a while, and what's coming will be no walk in the park:  rain, thunderstorms, and then sn.

WHO Channel 13 meteorologists say a few isolated showers may start to crop up this evening but the heaviest rain will build in after 11 PM Sunday night. Some thunderstorms may be embedded within the bands of rain as they cross Central Iowa. The rain will continue through the morning commute and noon hour on Monday. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 40s Monday, so a steady temperature for most of the day.

Wrap around clouds and snow will fill in through early Tuesday morning. A light snow and strong wind will occur during the morning commute. This may make travel difficult on the interstates and open state highways through the day on Tuesday. Temperatures will be in the 30s and winds will be strong and blustery from the northwest.

We will have some quieter weather Wednesday through Saturday with temperatures returning to the upper 40s by the weekend.
