Dix departure followed by Failor

Following the resignation of Bill Dix as the Majority Leader of the Iowa Senate, his chief staff member has also resigned.

The Senate Republican caucus announced Tuesday that Ed Failor Jr. resigned as the Senior Aide in the Majority Leader's Office.

Failor has worked in the Senate Republican staff since 2012.

In a statement, Senate President Jack Whitver said, “Ed brought a wealth of knowledge and experience in the legislative and political process. He deserves credit for helping Senate Republicans into the majority and playing a key role in the implementation of a historic, conservative legislative agenda. I thank him for his service in the Senate and look forward to maintaining a strong relationship with him in the future.”

Before his work for the Iowa Senate Republicans, Failor ran the organization Iowans for Tax Relief.
