Founder of Iowa's Sukup Manufacturing dies

HAMPTON, Iowa-   The founder of Sukup Manufacturing in Sheffield has died.  Eugene Sukup died Thursday at the age of 89.  

Sukup began his company in 1963 in a welding shop in Sheffield.

The company is known for its grain bins, dryers, material handling equipment, and more. 

The company issued a statement, “Eugene will be remembered as a leader, innovator, and exceptionally caring and generous person.”

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 16, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton, Iowa.

The funeral  will be Tuesday, July 17, at 10:30 a.m., also at Trinity Lutheran Church. It is located at 16 12th Avenue NE in Hampton, Iowa.
