Man arrested after short standoff in Ankeny, Iowa

POLK COUNTY, Iowa-  A man's been arrested after a brief standoff with Polk County Deputies today  (Monday).

The Sheriff's Office says a woman reported a domestic situation this morning, and said she and her boyfriend, 38-year-old Billy R. Pfeifer were involved in an argument, and that he would not let her leave.    

She told deputies Pfeiffer fired a gun, but she was escaped without injuries.

Deputies heard gunshots when they arrived on scene at 88-46 NW 16th Street, and after a short standoff Pfeiffer was arrested without incident.

Pfeifer is charged with domestic assault with a weapon and false imprisonment, he's in the Polk County Jail.
