Snow and ice still plague Iowa

Ice and snow became a major issue for commuters Tuesday afternoon.

The snow fell for several hours, adding from one to two inches of snow before it tapered down to near nothing. 

Cities that implemented their snow ordinances Tuesday to clear streets were preparing to do it again Wednesday.  Des Moines announced its ordinance would be reimplemented at 7am Wednesday.  

Anyone who parks on residental streets (except those neighborhoods that have odd-even days in place) is subject to a $35 fine and the vehicle could be towed.
