Heaviest snow northwest of Des Moines SNOW TOTALS MAP

DES MOINES, Iowa - The heaviest snow fell in far Northwest Iowa, where 8.0 inches is reported at Rock Rapids this morning.

2.7 inches of new snow is reported at the Des Moines International Airport, the official National Weather Service snow measurement that'll go into their weather records for Des Moines.

Polk City reports 2.1 inches, Waukee 1.5, Clive 2.1.

West of Des Moines, Adel has 3.5 inches, and Council Bluffs/Omaha 5.0 this morning.

Nevada reports 3.5 inches of new snow, Waterloo 4.0, and Clear Lake, near Mason City 4.0. Note: On the ISU Mesonet snow totals map below the 16 inch snow report was later corrected to 4.0 with 16 inches of total snow on the ground.
