Three killed, one critical after Muscatine house fire

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Three people are dead and another person is in critical condition after a house fire in Muscatine.

Crews found children screaming outside the home and one person found outside a window was rushed to the hospital.

Firefighters say the house was engulfed with fire when they arrived around 6:30 Monday night on Clinton Street.

The names of those who died are being withheld pending confirmation of identity and notification of family.

The state Fire Marshal and the Muscatine Police Department are investigating.

Officials tell KWQC TV 6 the house will "likely be considered a total loss", with a total loss estimated near $80,000.

One firefighter was injured during the fire but they did not require medical attention.
