BOONE, Iowa-- One person was taken to the hospital after a shooting in Boone Thursday afternoon. Police have one person detained for questioning, and say they're looking for a heavy-set black man wearing blue jeans and a white shirt who fled the scene. The shooting, near Franklin Park, prompted a lockdown at Boone schools and the campus of Des Moines Area Community College. Police say the victim was shot once, and the wounds are not thought to be life threatening.
