The Debate Over Paying College Athletes

Presidential Candidate Cory Booker has introduced a plan under which college athletes nationwide would be compensated for their “name, image, and likeness”. He also plans to establish a commission to examine additional compensation models and unionization to avoid possible exploitative labor practices. Booker's plan would also implement stronger oversight by the Department of Education and includes a targeted investigation and modification of the requirements of the NCAA and member schools’ tax-exempt status. Sports business analyst and former senior editor at ESPN magazine Keith Reed joins Jeff to talk about what the current debate means for the future of college athletics.
