WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - A West Des Moines daycare provider is in jail for torturing a child.
37-year-old Jennifer Simmons is charged with Child Endangerment - Torture or Cruelty.
Police say they received a report that Simmons struck a child in the face with her open hand at the in-home daycare she operated in December.
Simmons has been booked into the Polk County Jail with no bond.
