DES MOINES, Iowa -- Iowa has it's largest single-day increase in the number of new COVID-19 coronavirus cases.
The state Department of Public Health says Thursday there are 34 new cases of coronavirus, pushing the number to 179 cases in 36 counties.
The department says 31 people are hospitalized with the virus in Iowa, 81 people who've tested positive have not been hospitalized, and 15 people have been discharged from hospitals and are recovering.
Cornonavirus has killed one person in Iowa.
