EAGLE GROVE, Iowa - Prestage Foods says its meatpacking plant in Eagle Grove in Wright County has 16 cases of COVID-10/coronavitus.
The workers travel from Black Hawk County, where another outbreak at a packing plant has been located.
The company and the county requested testing from the state health department for 62 people who commute to the Eagle Grove plant from Black Hawk County. The results of those tests came back with 16 positive cases. Those workers are all asymptomatic.
Wright County and Prestage then asked for testing of all employees at the plant. 950 tests have been provided by the state, and those tests began Monday.
