Des Moines assault victim says attackers made racist comments

DES MOINES, Iowa- A Des Moines man's recovering after an assault on the city's south side. Police were called to the 52-hundred block of South Union Street around 3:25 this (Saturday) morning and found a 22-year-old male with non-life threatening injuries. The victim, who is black, told police the suspects in the assault were white and one made racist comments during the assault.

The victim was treated at a Des Moines hospital.
