WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - The were no injuries from a house fire overnight on the southern edge of West Des Moines.
Firefighters arrived in the 3800 block of Thornwood at roughly 12:30 a.m. from a nearby fire station to find everyone already safely outside the house.
The home sits across the Raccoon River from Walnut Woods State Park.
WHO-TV reports firefighters had a hard time trying to find the source of the fire because to heavy smoke and the layout of the home, so they called for more help.
Crews stayed on the scene to make sure there were no hot spots. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
