Cedar Rapids crews 60% thru derecho-tree damage

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids crews have picked up nearly 200-thousand tons of derecho tree debris as of this week. Crews have completed a first pass on about 60-percent of streets.

Once crews complete a first pass everywhere, they'll go back to each street for more debris.

The August 10th derecho caused a tremendous amount of damage to trees in all parts of Cedar Rapids. It's been estimated it impacted at least 65-percent of the entire tree canopy in the city.
