DES MOINES, Iowa - The Polk County Sheriff's Office says it has identified the driver who crashed into the Polk County Court House earlier this month.
32 year-old Emmanuel Cooper from West Des Moines has received a citation for the hit-and-run crash causing property damage to the downtown Des Moines courthouse in the early morning hours of October 1st.
Surveillance video captured Cooper crashing his SUV into a gate outside the courthouse after losing control and failing to make a turn.
Cooper regained control of his SUV after the crash and drove away from the scene.
