Iowa state high school volleyball tourney underway, with COVID-rules

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The state high school volleyball tourney is underway at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse arena in Cedar Rapids. Katie Ripke of CREVENTSLIVE says they've taken a number of COVID-19 mitigation steps. Crowd capacity has been reduced from 5,000 to 2,500 and tickets are being sold online.

Ripke says fans asked to arrive a half hour before their session, and they'll be required to wait outside the arena before being allowed inside for their purchased session. She says the concourse inside will be one-way and fans will be required to wear masks. She says once fans are seated in their group, they may remove their masks, as long as they are separated from other by at least three seats. She also notes food sold will be covered and other mitigation steps are being taken indoor, including the installation of plexiglass dividers at key locations.
