DNR Considering Penalties After Truck Rollover Kills Fish in Northern Iowa

WADENA, Iowa - The rollover of a truck carrying fertilizer has resulted in the death of fish in northern Iowa.

The truck from Nutrien Ag Solutions was carrying 20 tons of fertilizer when it rolled over near Wadena in Fayette County.

The Department of Natural Resources found dead fish and high ammonia levels in a stream, and is considering enforcement action.

Nutrien Ag, which owns the truck, is working to clean-up the spillage. DNR is monitoring cleanup and continuing an investigation.
