Suspects in Custody in Weekend Crash and Shooting

(Des Moines, Iowa) -- Des Moines Police say two people involved in a shooting and crash on Sunday are in custody.

Police say they found a stolen SUV crashed into a building near 12th St and Keo Way Sunday morning. Investigators believe the two occupants walked to an area hospital for treatment before being taken into custody.

20 year-old Siman Kallo and 18 year-old Abdinasir Warsame say someone shot at them, causing the crash.

Police found a stolen gun outside the SUV and a bullet hole in the windshield, and Kallo suffered a graze wound to the face. Kallo told officers Warsame possessed the stolen gun, which Warsame denied.

Both suspects are being held in the Polk County Jail facing multiple charges.
