Major Connection Between S.E. Nebraska and S.W. Iowa Reopens To All Modes

The Missouri River Bridge on Highway 2 at Nebraska City has reopened to traffic, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation, which says this was accomplished thanks to the help of commercial and heavy truck operators who avoided travel on the bridge so the work could be expedited.

The bridge had been closed to trucks “out of an abundance of caution” since Monday to expedite work on a planned rehabilitation project.

Construction on the bridge continues;

NDOT reminds motorists to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
