Iowa Ethics Board Says Governor Violated No Laws Appearing in Ads

(Des Moines, Iowa) -- Iowa's Ethics Board says Governor Kim Reynolds violated no laws by appearing in a series of taxpayer-funded ads.

In June, State Auditor Rob Sand accused Reynolds of using public money for self-promotion when she appeared in the statewide ads promoting mask-wearing. Reynolds was not alone in the ads; they also featured prominent Iowans like former governor Tom Vilsack, Dan Gable, and Carson King.

The Iowa Ethics Board's decision was unanimous.
