(Omaha, NE) -- A 50 year-old man from Florida has been arrested for his play in Saturday's fatal car crash on I-80. Driving a semi, Yorkwind Crawford was arrested for two counts of motor vehicle homicide.

According to a release from the Nebraska State Patrol, the two deaths have been identified as a father and son from La Vista. Mark Kaipust, 41, and Taylor Kaipust, 7.

Investigators say the semi rear-ended another car, just east of the 27th interchange. After the initial impact, the semi continued west, hitting other cars for further than a mile.

A total of eight vehicles were involved in the crash, sending five people to Bryan Health West Campus with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing, but police believe speed and inattention were causes of the multi-car crash.
