(Johnston, IA) -- A Johnston organization is sending 200 care packages to Iowa troops who can't be with their family for the holidays.

Jen Fletcher, President of the Blue Star Mothers of Iowa, tells WHO 13 the 200 care packages mark a record for the group.

“It’s a total labor of love. There’s nothing that makes me more happy than knowing that this box could go to someone else’s son or brother or nephew or friend that won’t be home with their family,” said Fletcher.

Each box included donated snacks, personal hygiene items, and handmade stockings.

Fletcher says donations come from across the state and included 15 cases of Girl Scout cookies from Girl Scouts in Indianola.

The Blue Star Mothers of Iowa are still collecting donations. Information on how to donate can be found on the organization's Facebook page.
