(Undated) -- Russia has invaded Ukraine and Iowans will soon feel the invasion in their wallets. Locals might soon see prices rising at the pump and on their heating bill. Russia sells about 12% of the world’s crude oil. Oil market prices jumped over5% overnight as the invasion started. Thursday is the first time a barrel of crude oil costs more than $100 since 2014. The Nord Stream Two pipeline feeding Russian natural gas to the rest of the world is put on hold as well. This could possibly lead to a rise in home heating costs as well.
