(Johnston, IA) -- Johnston will be planting 300 milkweed plants in the storm water basins along 57th Avenue and Crosshaven Park to help increase and sustain the population of monarch butterflies. The city says the National Wildlife Federation has encouraged mayors and their communities to take a pledge to help the butterfly population. Several other Iowa communities have also joined the Monarch's Pledge.
