Viola House Fire Damages Home, Injures One

(Viola, IA) -- A house fire in Viola, Iowa leaves one person injured and a home damaged.

First responders from the Linn County Sheriff's Office as well as fire crews from Anamosa and Springville, received reports of the fire around 4:30 Sunday morning at 3180 Pleasant Street. Crews were able to put the fire out quickly. Investigators say the fire started in the kitchen and caused extensive damage to the home.

The homeowner, Dennis Lakose, was treated for some inhalation at the scene. The cause of the fire is under further investigation, but the Springville Fire Department says they believe it was caused by an electrical failure.
