Dangerous Heat In Omaha/Council Bluffs Region

The National Weather Service in Omaha issues a Heat Advisory that will run from noon to eight p.m. Tuesday.

This is for east central, southeast, and northeast Nebraska, and southwest, and west central Iowa.

Forecasters say heat index values will be in the 102 to 110 range.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.

Health and weather experts remind us to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room if possible, stay out of the sun if you can, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
