Nebraska Quarterback Casey Thompson will not play in Michigan game

(Lincoln, NE) -- Nebraska starting Quarterback Casey Thompson will not play in Saturday's game against Michigan.

On Thursday, interim Head Coach Mickey Joseph announced that Thompson would be sitting out for a second straight week. Thompson suffered an injury to his arm in the second quarter of Nebraska's loss against Illinois on October 29th, and he hasn't played since after dealing with numbness in his throwing hand.

Just like last week, the Huskers will look to sophomore Logan Smothers and redshirt freshman Chubba Purdy at quarterback again. Joseph didn't say whether Smothers or Purdy will be starting the game. Kickoff from Ann Arbor is at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
